One hundred years ago, Kingston was a thriving lumber town that depended on its natural resources for survival. Even though the saw mill is now gone, about 3,000 residents have adjusted to the change and still find everything they need within the area. A supermarket, lumberyard, garden store, physicians and other professionals are readily available in Kingston’s commercial area to provide any number of products or services. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, The Kingston Ferry crosses to Edmonds just north of Seattle.

Residents enjoy a multitude of community activities including weekly farmers markets from May to October, the Blue Grass Festival in September, Country Christmas in December, and the longest running 4th of July Parade on the Peninsula. The Spirit of Horse Gallery, which is an art gallery and farm, showcases the artwork of artist Kim McElroy and her favorite subject – horses. The downtown area provides the perfect excuse to stroll along the quiet waterfront or enjoy your favorite book and latte at a cozy café.
About five miles to the south is the smaller community of Indianola, which offers fine sandy beaches and a fishing pier over Puget Sound. This area was originally developed as the summer home for many of Seattle’s elite residents. No matter what features attracts you to Kingston, you are guaranteed to enjoy living in this charming community.
